Trienda has developed a new plastic pallet to optimize the shipment of palletized FIBCs or SuperSaks
Bulk bags – also known as flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC) or SuperSaks, were introduced back in the 1950s. Usage of FIBCs in the US became heavy during the 1980s. Early primary applications included cement and hazardous materials, but today, bulk bags are used for a range of industrial, agricultural, pharmaceutical, and other products. However, Trienda commented in a recent blog post, “there hasn’t been an effective solution for international and domestic bulk bag shipments – until now.” Trienda states that it is one of the first in the market to devote engineering and manufacturing prowess to develop a plastic material handling solution for bulk bags.
Serving an astonishing increase in consumer demand
Trienda’s development of its new Bulk Bag Pallet stemmed from a dramatic increase in consumer demand. “More and more of our customers were asking for better solutions than wood and cardboard, so we dove into the facts and found a gaping hole in the market,” it stated. Trienda discovered that organizations throughout the world use about 100 million bulk bags annually, and a 12 percent growth is expected each year as demand continues to increase.
“When a plastics and resins client approached us and asked that we create a plastic pallet that works with bulk bags, we heeded the call,” Trienda reported. “After designing and engineering our breakthrough concept, we successfully performed extensive and rigorous testing – and the new Bulk Bag Pallet was born!”
Benefits of the Bulk Bag Pallet
Providing superior protection between bags and fork tines, these plastic pallets are lightweight for easy handling. Their heavy-duty HDPE construction improves durability and eliminates damaging nails and splinters without dramatically increasing shipping and storage weight. Raised and flat decks are interchangeable with a simple flip. Bulk Bag Pallets are custom-built for 5:1 and 6:1 rated bags and can be used with standard conveyor systems.
All Trienda plastic pallets offer a long service life, fit ISPM 15 exemption standards, and are 100% recyclable. The pallet measures 43.38″ x 43.38″ (1100mm x 1100mm) with a height of 3.69″.
