- The Nordic region’s largest player in return logistics and pallets, SmartRetur, has acquired Jordbo Lastpall Depå AB.
- Jordbro will be part of the SmartRetur family
The Nordic region’s largest player in return logistics and pallets, SmartRetur, has acquired Jordbo Lastpall Depå AB. With 6 warehouses in Sweden already, SmartRetur is already well established in the country, and with Jordbro, the market leader gets better coverage in the Stockholm area and not least more knowledgeable employees in the organization.
Jordpro: Talented people with a good reputation
CEO of SmartRetur, Søren Eriksen, is very pleased that Jordbro will be part of the Scandinavian family.” There were three things we were looking for: enthusiastic professionals, a good reputation, and a strategic location,” he said.
“At Jordbro we found all this and more. They work well with a close-knit team where most have been involved for many years. They have long customer relationships and a good reputation in the industry, based on a very solution-oriented customer focus, and they have a grip on a strategic region in Sweden. What can I say, they are an impressive bunch we look forward to working more closely with,” Eriksen continued.
SmartRetur: International emphasis and market leader in digitization
For site manager Viktor Sävström in Jordbro, the acquisition means that he and his colleagues can offer customers more and better services. “For those of us who have run our store and refined our concept for almost 20 years, it is very inspiring to be part of a forward-looking international and innovative player such as SmartRetur,” he said.
“They share our visions of tailor-made solutions and smart reuse, while at the same time being at the forefront of the industry when it comes to digitization. It is the next level for both us and our customers,” he obsoerved.
Business as usual – but increased collaboration
Both Søren Eriksen and Viktor Sävström are keen to make the best use of the complementarity in the collaboration. Jordbro will continue with exactly the same staffing that has run the company daily but will be connected to SmartRetur’s system, pallet flow, and technology. At the same time, SmartRetur will benefit from Jordbro’s contacts, customers, and culture.
“Buying out a passive owner was a good opportunity for growth for both the company and the employees,” stated Eriksen.” Viktor and the gang have come a long way on their own, now they are part of an offensive Scandinavian service company that thinks circular economy and large-scale operations where it pays off for customers,” he concluded.
