Schoeller Arca Systems Sets Up Plastic Pallet Manufacturing Facility in Arizona

Plastic pallet supplier Schoeller Arca Systems is gearing up a facility in Goodyear, Ariz., to supply IFCO Systems with injection molded pallets, according to a story in Plastics News.

Up to this point in time, Schoeller Arca has been relying on contract manufacturers to produce its injection molded pallets for the North American market. According to Robert Engle, President of Schoeller Arca Americas, workload at contract manufacturers should not be affected by the new facility, which will address fulfilling the new contract. In recent years Schoeller Arca has been manufacturing plastic pallets for pallet rental company iGPS.

Engle was quoted as indicating that the pallets would be for a range of agricultural and food applications. The Goodyear plant, formerly a Rubbermaid operation, is anticipated to be in production by the end of May, employing more than 45 employees. It is installing 14 injection presses with clamping forces of 1,000 tons.
