An industry guide to help retailers and their supply chain suppliers further understand and accelerate the use of reusable transport packaging assets in retail applications.
Washington D.C. (October 2023) The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) has published the Retail and the How of Reusable Transport Packaging white paper. The document shares critical elements to help retailers and their supply chain suppliers further understand and accelerate the use of reusable transport packaging assets.
The 90-page report was written by RPA member companies who collaborated as part of the association’s “Retail and Ecommerce Workstream”. The Retail & Ecommerce Workstream brings together member company representatives for the purpose of enabling industry dialogue and activities on common and pre-competitive topics for the advancement of reusable packaging opportunities in retail supply chains.
Reusable packaging systems play a critical role in reducing the environmental impact of delivering goods to consumers, offering users a longer, useful life of their packaging (typically measured in years) and a truly circular model, recycling the packaging at the end of its lifespan.
RPA member companies are industry leaders in the reusable transport packaging industry and have vast knowledge and experience in helping retailers implement reuse systems into their operations and supply chains across the globe. “Retailers and their supply chains may differ, but there are numerous examples where reusable assets are successfully implemented with local and global retailers and ecommerce leaders,” said Todd Hoff, RPA’s Executive Vice President of Member Programs. “It is important to share these best practices across the retail industry so other retailers can further accelerate the use of reusable assets.”
The Retail and the How of Reusable Transport Packaging white paper is now available for download on the Reusable Packaging Associations’ website.
