ATLANTA, GA — Resend-It, a recent entrant into the reusable ecommerce packaging space, has introduced an innovative reusable polybag designed to tackle waste generation. Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the product is a cost-effective and sustainable solution aimed at reshaping how businesses and consumers handle shipping materials.
“We’ve developed a reusable packaging product over the past three years and right now we’re working to attract clients,” Cody Clark, a co-founder of Resend-It, explained on a recent call. “We hope to use platforms like Reusable Packaging News to get the message out to businesses looking for sustainable options in ecommerce.”
The Resend-It package is a polybag laminated for durability and secured with Velcro, making it reusable for multiple shipping cycles. The bag folds down to the size of an envelope (11.5 by 5 inches) for easy return by mail, eliminating the need for drop-offs at UPS or FedEx locations. Each bag features a custom label that peels off without residue, revealing a return label and instructions. Consumers simply place the folded polybag in the nearest USPS mailbox.
The system is designed with ease of use in mind. “Our design minimizes customer friction,” Clark explained. “Customers just place it in the mailbox for return. It’s sleeker than the existing options in the market.”
A Customizable and Cost-Effective Model
The Resend-It solution has two business models: a deposit model where customers receive a rebate upon return of the bag, and a surcharge model for non-returned packaging. For 5,000 units, the cost per bag is currently $1.63, which includes the packaging, tracking software, and custom labels. The per unit price reduces with volume.
“During our pilot program, we’re only charging for production costs,” said Clark. “You get the packaging, custom labels, and tracking software all bundled into a flat price. For businesses, it’s not just about cost savings; it’s also a significant step toward sustainability.”
“Packages don’t have to go into the garbage. That’s been the norm, but it doesn’t have to be the future.”

Resend-It has partnered with a paper company in Cincinnati, Ohio, to manufacture labels that peel off easily. “We tested a bunch of labels in the market, and none of them worked as well as we wanted. So, we developed our own,” Clark said.

Targeting the U.S. Market
Resend-It is focusing on the continental U.S., a market Clark described as underserved in reusable packaging. The company’s strategy involves targeting both e-commerce businesses and packaging companies as potential resellers. Resend-It also offers extensive customization, allowing clients to incorporate unique designs, logos, or messaging on the packaging.
“We can print any color, any logo, any messaging the customer wants,” Clark noted.
A Sustainable Vision
The core motivation behind Resend-It is sustainability. Clark emphasized the environmental benefits of reuse over recycling. “Ecommerce generates so much waste with boxes and polybags, and not all of it gets recycled,” he said. “The answer is reuse—accepting the package back, cleaning it, and sending it out again. It’s better for the environment and more cost-effective.”
Clark said the team’s goal is to encourage businesses to adopt the message of reuse. “It doesn’t have to be the way we’ve always done it. Packages don’t have to go into the garbage or recycling bins. That’s been the norm, but it doesn’t have to be the future.”
With qualified business reply mail status from USPS and large-scale production capabilities, Resend-It is prepared to meet the demands of major clients. The product has been tested with various items, including books, jeans, and beauty products, proving its versatility and durability.
Resend-It is optimistic about the future and hopes to make its reusable packaging a cornerstone of sustainable e-commerce. “We’ve spent years developing this product, and now we’re ready to bring it to market,” Clark said. “Sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated. With Resend-It, we’re proving that reuse can be simple, affordable, and impactful.”
