Returnable Transit Packaging specialists PPS Midlands Ltd have smashed the 10 million mark for reusable trays despatched in 2021.
The reusable trays, which provide a sustainable alternative to single-use packaging, have helped vital goods reach their destinations in food processing, healthcare, and retail sectors.
This represents a significant increase from previous years, despite another challenging year for businesses. PPS Group Managing Director Joanne Lee said that the rise in demand for reusable packaging at such a time shows companies are still taking sustainability seriously.
“This is an impressive milestone to have reached in what are still challenging times for businesses across the country,” she said. “It shows that despite all of the issues businesses have encountered this year, they are still looking for sustainable options within the supply chain. This is a real positive for now and the future.”
PPS provides trays to customers via pooling or rental options, offering flexible long and short-term contracts tailored to the customers’ needs. PPS pooling is a complete loop solution whereby people will rent trays and return them to PPS for washing, and then they are returned to the customer clean and ready to reuse and sent back through the supply chain. Rental refers purely to the rental of equipment with no washing. Companies often use rental trays internally for use solely within their premises. They won’t be despatched onwards through the supply chain and are returned to PPS when the rental agreement ends.
PPS trays are available in different sizes and colours and are complete with bale-arms. Not only are the trays a more sustainable option than single-use alternatives, but they are also more durable and efficient for transport.
The returnable packaging specialists operate throughout the UK and offer a full range of services, including the rental, pooling, washing and repair of returnable transit packaging such as reusable crates, trays, pallets and pallet boxes.
