Roldo Rent (part of the Rotom Group) expands rental activities through the acquisition of Varodarent
Roldo Rent and Varodarent have agreed to join forces, with Varodarent being acquired by Roldo Rent. Both companies are active in the rental market of (sustainable) moving materials. Merging both companies will lead to a robust expansion of the logistics network and the rental pool. In this way, the combined company can grow faster and better serve its customers.
“The addition of Varodarent to Rotom will strengthen the portfolio as a full-service provider and lessor in the field of customer-specific load carriers. In this way, we can offer Varodarent’s relations a broader package of logistics resources, not only in the Netherlands, but also in several European countries,” said Arjan Kuiper (CEO Rotom Europe) and Gerard Geijtenbeek (Director Roldo Rent).
“On behalf of Varodarent, I am very pleased with the cooperation with Roldo Rent,” added Patrick van Rooijen, Director Varodarent. There is a nice synergy of activities between our companies that strengthens the position and enables us to expand product development and IT services to the market.”
Roldo Rent is part of the Rotom Group. Rotom facilitates companies with logistics resources for transport and storage in 10 countries in Europe. This addition creates an even stronger rental branch that serves the European market through 26 of its own branches. Rotom can manage the logistics of load carriers in the customer’s supply chain, from production site to end-of-chain collection, with a single point of contact supported by a dense network of European locations.
Rotom further expands its activities with the acquisition of Poolback in Spain
Rotom’s mission is to become the European market leader in sustainable load carriers and supply chain solutions. With the acquisition of Poolback, Rotom is further expanding its activities in Spain, France, and Germany in the field of load carriers and services for logistics resources. Poolback is a company led by a director/owner with headquarters in Madrid. Poolback has a very interesting position with, among other things, pallet pooling, pallet banking, rental of pallets, and a variety of related services. The company has an extensive network of depots across Europe, which will significantly add to the Rotom Group.
“We manage the entire process from delivery to the customer to collection of logistics resources at the point of receipt,” said Javier Escudero, Managing Director Poolback. “We rent pallets for a certain period of time to cover internal processes. In addition, we realize optimal logistics routes for the collection of load carriers at the point of consumption. We also store, inspect and repair load carriers and many other logistic packaging so that they are available for reuse by our customers.”
Poolback’s core activity is pallet pooling and pallet banking across Europe. This fits perfectly in Rotom’s mindset, which focuses on sustainability and environmentally conscious handling of load carriers for which natural raw materials are used.
“Now we can offer our customers in Europe pooling for standard items such as Epal pallets and H1 plastic pallets, while the Rotom company ‘2Return’ offers packaging recovery solutions for pallets,” stated CEO of Rotom, Arjan Kuiper, on the acquisition of Poolback. “Both concepts are highly complementary and contribute to the circularity and reuse of load carriers such as pallets, cages, etc.”
Poolback retains its own identity and brand name. Supported by the Rotom Group and its extensive product and service portfolio, the aim is to significantly increase growth beyond wood and plastic products. Current Poolback owners Javier Escudero and Maria Martin will remain on board the company to support a smooth integration with the Rotom Group and further business development.
Rotom supports companies with logistics resources for transport and storage in 10 countries in Europe.
