Pallets During World War 2 – Quartermaster Corps

One of the best studies of pallet usage during the Second World War appears in The Quartermaster Corps: Organization, Supplies and Services Volume 1, by Erna Risch. The focus is from the perspective of the Quartermaster Corps versus other functions such as ordance, but this endures as the most detailed coverage I have found with respect to pallet usage during this period. The account draws on a number of primary documents that very likely no longer exist.

I have broken down the pertinent coverage into four pdf files that can be accessed below. There is also a full text version available online, with more legible text, but unfortunately no images. The best approach is to probably combine both.
