Cross-border Euro-pallet exchange management in real-time: PAKi continues to roll out the e-Voucher across Europe
PAKi will roll out the e-Voucher in 25 countries in Europe. With the digital pallet voucher, which can be used throughout Europe, PAKi is establishing a more efficient standard for pallet voucher management in the market, which enables faster processing and thus delivers time savings of up to 50 percent. This is made possible by the digitized pallet note management system operating in real-time, which can then be viewed in the pallet account immediately after being “issued” at the ramp. The real-time credit eliminates the need to print and transfer pallet vouchers.
The real-time credit represents a further step in the digitization of pallet voucher management with the e-voucher, which has been on the market for several years. In cooperation with customers from sectors including FMCG, retail, manufacturers, as well as LSPs, it is constantly being enhanced.
“The benefit of the PAKi e-Voucher lies in the combination of online open pallet management and operational availability of load carriers throughout Europe,” says Christian Agasse, CEO of PAKi. “The digital e-Voucher ensures a high level of transparency and saves costs, as it minimizes the effort at the ramp and in administration. The e-Voucher is of interest to all retailers and logistics service providers that operate throughout Europe, as the e-Voucher enables the paperless organization of pallets for the flow of goods in and across 25 countries. The customer can rely on receiving pallets in the right quantity and quality at the desired location at any time.”
Once signed-up with PAKi a customer can order, redeem or pass the digital pallet voucher to third parties. If, for example, an LSP delivers goods to a retailer, he can ask for an e-Voucher and the retailer issues the voucher directly on site via the online tool. The amount of Euro-pallets handed over is credited immediately. Pallets can then be ordered at any time from the pallet credit for delivery or collection in the desired quality.
The e-Voucher enables considerable cost savings as no physical documents need to be issued or manually entered by the pallet operators. The real-time crediting also eliminates the need to send vouchers by post or email. Studies by PAKi have shown that up to 50 percent of the time required for administration is saved. The on-site handling at goods-in is reduced by two thirds of the time, i.e. requiring 5 instead of 15 minutes. Pallet management via the e-Voucher also saves empty runs and thus fuel and CO2 emissions.
The e-Voucher can be traced via a barcode or its serial number and thus enables a high degree of transparency in controlling, as all entries in an account can be viewed in detail and queries can be made promptly after the transaction.
The e-Voucher is available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
