Pacurion continues to gain momentum in the European pallet and reusable packaging market by offering a streamlined, digital procurement solution. Unlike conventional brokers or standard marketplaces, Pacurion explained to Reusable Packaging News that it acts as both the central platform and contractual partner, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and customer support throughout the transaction process.
Co-CEO Dennis Maschmeyer sums up the company’s core function: “Pacurion offers a procurement solution for both customers and manufacturers and dealers of load carriers. The focus is on efficient, standardized, and digital procurement,” he said. “In addition to the central procurement platform, Pacurion also provides a forecasting and reporting system.”
Pacurion primarily serves the DACH region—Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—but has a broader reach across Europe. “Right now, 500,000 pallets are handled by our team each month,” Maschmeyer states. Despite economic challenges, the company experienced significant growth in 2024, increasing its volume by nearly 41%. This expansion was driven by new strategic partnerships, an expanded product portfolio, and the dedicated efforts of its team.
Pacurion: A Smarter, More Efficient Procurement Model
The company operates as an online marketplace where buyers and sellers connect, yet it differentiates itself through its role as a contractual intermediary. “We are fully responsible for the quality, loading, in-time delivery, and so on,” Maschmeyer explains. “Customers don’t just deal with a multitude of independent suppliers—they deal with Pacurion as their single point of contact.”
This approach mitigates risks and reduces complexity for pallet buyers. Instead of juggling multiple contracts, customers make inquiries on the Pacurion platform—whether for a full truckload of EPAL pallets, a special design, or a smaller quantity. Certified suppliers respond with offers, which customers can accept, negotiate, or decline. Once a deal is made, Pacurion handles invoicing and ensures the fulfillment of orders.
Pacurion offers tailored procurement solutions for load carriers – ranging from Basic to Smart and Prime. With the Prime model, Pacurion acts as a dedicated procurement expert, taking over the entire sourcing process for all load carriers. The customer simply communicates their requirements while Pacurion takes care of the rest. Throughout the process, the customer receives 24/7 support and full transparency.
For pallet manufacturers and traders, the platform is a sales channel that streamlines the bidding and transaction process. “If the client accepts your bid, you deliver. The invoice is paid by Pacurion,” Maschmeyer says. Additionally, the platform facilitates the sale of used or broken pallets. Companies can list surplus inventory, allowing other businesses to bid and collect the goods, with Pacurion handling payments and logistics.
Pallet Price Forecasting and Market Reporting
Beyond transactions, Pacurion also provides price forecasting and market reporting, offering insights that enable businesses to make informed procurement decisions. Customers can subscribe to Pacurion’s price forecast service for €29.90 per month or €299 annually, with a trial month available for €15.00.
Pacurion is also addressing a common industry challenge—pallet debt settlement. Pallet exchanges often result in outstanding balances that require monetary or physical reconciliation. “If you’ve accumulated pallet debt in recent months, contact us,” Maschmeyer says. “We can offer attractive prices for physical settlement, which are very likely lower than monetary settlement prices.” Pacurion also offers the option to fully transfer pallet debt, managing reconciliation and ensuring Euro pallets are available where needed.
With increasing volatility in supply chains and growing demand for more efficient procurement solutions, Pacurion positions itself as an indispensable partner in the European pallet and reusable packaging market. As it expands its services, the company continues to build a more interconnected and resilient supply chain for the industry.
