OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — November 12, 2024 — ORBIS® Corporation, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions, has unveiled its latest innovation in reusable packaging: a new 60×48 industrial pallet designed to address the specific demands of electric vehicle (EV) and powertrain supply chains. This robust pallet, created through a Structural Foam Injection process, is engineered for high durability and reliability, aligning with the rigorous standards of the industrial and automotive sectors.
The 60×48 pallet is particularly suited for the secure transport of powertrain and EV components, including longer battery parts and modules. With edge-racking capabilities and compatibility with automation systems, the pallet is optimized for operational efficiency and flexible storage solutions. ORBIS also offers the option to add metal reinforcements to support edge-racking requirements, enhancing its strength and versatility in handling and storage.
60×48 Industrial Pallet: Enhanced Load Security and Efficient Handling

“We’re so excited to introduce our new 60×48 as this reinforces our ongoing commitment to provide reliable and durable solutions for the EV and powertrain industries,” said Bre Herbert, Senior Product Manager at ORBIS Corporation. “With this new product, we’re able to offer enhanced load security and efficiency in handling and transportation.”
The new pallet measures 59.9 x 47.9 inches externally and 59.1 x 47.1 inches internally and includes a continuous one-inch lip, providing added load stability during transit. This feature ensures compatibility with various racking systems and allows customers to incorporate additional support through metal reinforcements.
ORBIS’ new design also seamlessly integrates with other reusable packaging solutions, including totes and EPP or thermoform trays, making it a comprehensive option for manufacturers. To further secure unit loads, ORBIS offers a 60×48 thermoform top cap designed specifically for use with this pallet, adding another layer of protection and reliability for transported goods.
