ORBIS Corporation Reveals Life Cycle Assessment Sustainability Analysis Initiative at MODEX 2012

ATLANTA – At MODEX 2012, ORBIS Corporation, sustainable reusable packaging leader, announced a life cycle assessment based initiative; a service that will provide actionable data to detail a company’s environmental impact based on comparing packaging scenarios. The report will compare user packaging data using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology and suggest potential opportunities for increased environmental sustainability. ORBIS is one of the first to bring such a process to the reusable packaging market.

The ORBIS sales team will work with customers and the ORBIS engineering team to complete a worksheet with data inputs about current practices. ORBIS will analyze the information and provide customers with the quantifiable impact reusable packaging made, or has the potential to make, on their business. By comparing past practices with planned or newly implemented practices, companies can measure the environmental impact of adopting reusable packaging in their particular application.

With calculations available through this new initiative, businesses receive a report that compares and evaluates energy used, solid waste generated and greenhouse gases used for different packaging options, and have the ability to identify opportunities for improvement. The use of LCA methodology can assist end users with data to make better environmental decisions using many methods of transport packaging like reusable packaging. Through this initiative, ORBIS can help customers with a proven, fact-based methodology.
