OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — ORBIS Corporation has introduced an updated version of its BulkPak HDR4048 extreme-duty bulk container, incorporating design changes intended to improve durability, maintenance and long-term performance.

The new BulkPak HDR4048-25/34 builds on the company’s existing 40 x 48-inch HDR platform while maintaining backward compatibility with existing HDR4048 containers. The reusable bulk container is designed for the demanding applications that can benefit from reusable bulk containers, including industrial, food and beverage, automotive, export, and closed-loop applications.
“This new container builds upon both an excellent track record and field learnings to create a new standard in the 4048 bulk space,” said Chad Mosley, ORBIS Senior Product Manager. “By incorporating customer feedback and operational insights, we enhanced an already proven design to deliver greater long-term value and reliability across a wide range of applications.”
The HDR4048-25/34 offers a load capacity of up to 2,000 pounds and features durable HDPE construction with solid sidewalls. It has a standard 1200 x 1000 mm footprint, a full-stringer base for stacking and handling, and access doors on the long side.
ORBIS says several of the changes reflect experience gained from its HDMP bulk container line. These include an HDMP-inspired panel design and updated latches and hinges intended to improve durability and service life.
Maintenance has also been addressed. Retention clips replace fiberglass rods, simplifying component maintenance, while an enhanced base-to-stringer interlock is designed to provide additional stability. Updated ribbing and base geometry are intended to improve overall performance, and larger branding areas provide more space for product and company identification.
Like other reusable BulkPak containers, the new model is intended to improve trailer and warehouse utilization while reducing reliance on expendable packaging through repeated reuse.
