May 18, 2023 Contrak Container Co Australia has introduced GPS and Wi-Fi tracking to their Contrak folding bin range, available for vented or non-vented containers. The company says that its modeling suggests payback within a year of implementation.
The Contrak folding bin is made for Australian conditions and in the standard size of 1162×1162 and 780mm high. It is supplied with or without gates. All parts are replaceable.
The new feature offers Australian-wide GPS tracking. Benefits include:
1 loss, and theft deterrence
2 real-time visibility and control
3 temperature monitoring
4 proof of delivery
5 Optimise asset utilisation
The tracking includes Geolocation via GPS and Wi-Fi. A temperature sensor monitors bin temperature variance. The equipment is water resistance and dust- proof with a 5-to-7-year battery life and the equipment can operate at -30c to +85c
Contrak Container Co. customers can now lease to own the equipment over 24 months, and at the lease end, the customer owns the equipment outright. Alternatively, bins can be purchased outright, with delivery throughout Australia
“The ability to provide asset tracking to our customers is yet another way we are helping them cut their operating costs and provide a higher level of control,” said John Judd, Managing Director of Contrak Container Co. “The trackers go beyond just location sharing. They prevent theft, help provide quality control through temperature monitoring, provide proof of delivery, and reduce downtime of assets. Our modelling shows that customers could also expect a ROI payback in the first 12 months of implementation.”

IPP Pooling’s RUDi – ReUsableDisplay Wins Product of the Year 2022
May 11, 2023 – IPP Pooling’s RUDi, also known as the ReUsableDisplay, has been crowned the recipient of the esteemed Product of the Year 2022 in the Logistics & Transport category by Materialfluss Magazine!
The prestigious award acknowledges IPP Pooling’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, as well as their mission to decrease waste and expenses in the supply chain. The ReUsable Display, which has received this accolade, revolutionizes the industry by providing a durable and versatile substitute for conventional cardboard displays. Not only does it contribute to waste reduction, but it also enhances product visibility and sales, making it a game-changing solution in the market.
With RUDi, the assembly and packaging can be done – as before – by the brand manufacturer as well as now, at retail POS. The display offers the capability to showcase a wide variety of products, irrespective of weight, stackability, or height. The design of the display, including the decoration of the sockets and the overall structure, can be flexibly customized, similar to a disposable corrugated cardboard display. The major advantage lies in the reusable nature of the display sockets, eliminating the need for disposal after each use. This results in significant cost savings in terms of materials, transportation, and CO2 emissions.
“At IPP Pooling, we believe that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand,” the company stated. “That’s why we are proud to be at the forefront of the circular economy, providing reusable packaging solutions that help our customers save money while enhancing the sustainability of their operations.”
