New Hybrid 1012 and 1212 Bins Available from Macro Plastics

New Hybrid bins are the future of harvest, storage, and shipping solutions, says Macro Plastics

Design features include 10% improved ventilation, smoothed interior surfaces and innovative  perimeter geometry to prevent bowing out of side walls.

(Fairfield – CA) – Macro Plastics is expanding their line of Hybrid bins. Two new ultra-durable agricultural containers have been engineered to satisfy their customers’ needs for a strong reusable harvest bin that protects their delicate produce and maximizes shipping efficiencies for worldwide transportation.

By designing state of the art bins, Macro Plastics continues to lead the industry in innovation. These injection-molded plastic bins feature an innovative perimeter geometry that is designed to keep the walls from bowing out. Tapered walls prevent adjacent bins from crashing against each other, creating a “bruise buffer” zone to protect your delicate produce from damage during transport, storage, and in the field. Newly engineered columns improve impact resistance while the bins feature smoother, rounder edges with 10% more ventilation for faster cooling and better air flow throughout the bin.

Shipping efficiencies are increased, and delivery costs reduced significantly as the empty plastic bins can be nested when shipped, with the columns and feet inserts removed and stored inside the bins. The Hybrid 1012 and 1212 can be stacked high, achieving greater storage efficiencies for growers. In a stack, the top bin doesn’t nest into the bottom bin, instead it is secured by lugs, which allows full use of the internal volume, and keeps the feet and strap of the top bin away from the valuable contents below.

Macro Plastics nested bins

Columns and feet inserts can be removed to facilitate nesting of empty bins at a return ratio of 5:1.

The Hybrid 1012 is incredibly versatile making it perfect for the toughest harvest, storage and shipping conditions. The footprint is ideal for returnable export and shipping applications with a return ratio of 5:1. The exceptionally strong Hybrid 1212 has been designed as the ultimate harvest bin and most cost efficient, as the column and feet inserts can be removed, so the bins can nest, to fit a greater quantity during transport, then they are locked into place at destination. Once filled, the bins interlock for safer stacking during storage. The Hybrid bins will begin production in September 2018!

Committed to reducing their impact on the environment, Macro Plastics offers 100% recyclable packaging. Macro strives to recover all their products at the end of their life, so they can be recycled and turned into other products; so your investment has a high residual value.

“We are very excited about the new Hybrid 1012 and 1212” states Peter Piccioli, VP of Sales for Macro Plastics, “Our goal at Macro Plastics has always been to design bins that help our customers through all harvest stages, from in the field, to storage, and all the way through transporting the produce worldwide. Our new Hybrid bins help them achieve that!”
