Millwood Acquires Williamson Pallets Business

October 12, 2012 By Rick LeBlanc Leave a Comment

Millwood Inc., which acquired National Packaging Specialists earlier this year, has acquired the business of Lannes Williamson Pallets, a family-owned Southside, West Virginia pallet operation known for quality and superior customer service. Although Williamson is closing his plant, Millwood will service his accounts from mills in the region.

“After forty years of continuous operation, retiring was one of the most challenging decisions I have made,” said Lannes Williamson, president. “It was most important to me that our loyal customers are well served. I believe that Millwood is the supplier that is most capable of providing the same level ofcustomer service that Williamson Pallets customers have come to expect.”

“This is a continuation of our growth strategy,” said Ron Ringness, executive vice president – sales, marketing & technology/partner. “As opportunities arise, we are actively acquiring new businesses, product lines and customer lists along with hiring new personnel.” Williamson will remain actively involved as a consultant to Millwood during the transition period. He will work closely with Dave Sabo, Millwood’s senior sales manager in the Alleghany Region, and Lee Evans, manager – strategic sourcing/customer care.

“We have respected Lannes as one of the best suppliers in West Virginia, and one of our strongest competitors,” said Ron Ringness, executive vice president – sales, marketing & technology/partner. “We look forward to serving his customers in the future.”

Millwood will be among RPA members joining forces to promote the use of reusable packaging at the Reusable Packaging Pavilion at Pack Expo.
