Maxinest evolution is tailor made for automated warehouses

December 16, 2011 By Rick LeBlanc Leave a Comment

LINPAC Allibert, global expert in plastic returnable transit packaging for the food, retail and manufacturing sectors, has designed a new version of its award-winning Maxinest grocery retail tray to meet the growing demand for equipment that works seamlessly with the latest automated filling, weighing and handling technology.maxinest plus

The Maxinest+ is the most advanced in the Maxinest range, which now features 20 variations. Widely used in supermarkets for grocery and bakery distribution and display, Maxinest protects, maintains quality and promotes hygiene for fresh and frozen fruit, vegetables, pre-packaged meats, fish, prepared meals and many other food items.

A recess under the bale arms on the Maxinest+ allows access by robotic stack/nest systems, while the reinforced base has been designed for quiet, smooth operation on all conveyor types and to meet the close tolerances demanded by robot pick and place systems.

Maxinest+ has been proven to reduce noise levels by at least 12.5% on roller conveyors as well, depending on the type and configuration of the conveyor. Other features include smooth surfaces to protect contents and promote hygiene, the ability to stack 10-high on bale arms, or nest up to 77% of its original height with the bale arms pushed back.

It also boasts ventilated sides and air flow, to help speed up cooling and maintain a constant temperature and a label holder for both adhesive and drop-in labels – making it ideally suited for RFID track and trace technology.

Simon Moulson, Head of Retail Development at LINPAC Allibert, explains: “Maxinest+ is a natural evolution in the Maxinest range and been developed to ensure that customers continue to get the environmental and performance benefits of this popular tray by making sure it is fully compatible with the latest in automated warehousing developments.

“It can also be easily RFID-enabled at manufacture with water and shock resistant tags, which make them easy to track throughout the supply chain, helping to minimise losses and improve processing speeds – ultimately leading to cost savings, while allowing for detailed real-time reporting on the location and use of each container.”

Maxinest+ trays stack 10-high carrying a 16 kg unit load (162kg load on the base tray), in temperatures ranging from -30˚C to +85˚C. Like all of the Maxinest range they are 100% recyclable at the end of their life.
