With effect from August 16, PAKi Logistics has appointed Marc Groenewoud as the new CEO of the pooling company. He replaces Ingrid Faber, who took over the management on an interim basis after the leaving of Christian Agasse.
Marc Groenewoud has completed an interesting career path from a “Marketeer” and sales expert to General Manager with full commercial operational responsibilities. He started his career at Henkel Detergents working out of Germany and the UK in diverse Marketing and Commercial roles.
After 10 years he joined METRO Cash & Carry where he has led the Czech, Slovakian, Austrian and German businesses to high-performing entities focusing on sales and E-commerce. In his time as METRO Cash & Carry CEO in Austria, Marc Groenewoud has managed a business with 2,300 staff and a turnover of €800 million. As COO METRO Deutschland in Germany, he even managed more than 100 stores with more than 14,000 employees, being co-responsible for a business of €4.8 billion.
After his last role for METRO Deutschland, he became an investor for real estate and IT start-ups. Marc Groenewoud holds a Degree in Business Administration from the University of Giessen and currently lives in Düsseldorf.
“Thanks to his extensive experience in retail and industry as well as his entrepreneurial mindset, we are convinced that Marc Groenewoud will lead our PAKi organization, together with Sven Kokemor and David Mayo, towards sustainable growth in the coming years,” says Ingrid Faber. “I am very much looking forward to joining PAKi. PAKi Logistics is a dynamic company that offers me an environment to develop innovative solutions for the digitalization of the supply chain,” says Marc Groenewoud.
