With an overall score of 68/100, 4 points higher than in 2015, the pallet-pooling specialist LPR-La Palette Rouge (a Division of Euro Pool Group) has been awarded “Advanced Gold” status by the CSR Audit platform EcoVadis. LPR is therefore among the top 1% of the companies audited.
For the fourth year running, the pallet-pooling specialist LPR-La Palette Rouge has raised its score for the assessment of its CSR policy, thus confirming its status as an advanced “Gold-rated” CSR company.
This makes LPR unique in the pallet sector, although it had already been awarded the same in 2015 by the audit platform EcoVadis. This organization carries out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) audits at the request of industrial groups, based on the main international standards in the field of sustainable development: the United Nations Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative, and the ISO 26000 standard. It enables prospective customers to assess the CSR policy of their suppliers, to ensure that they comply with best practices in the field.
A score of 68/100
LPR was audited on the basis of 21 criteria, grouped by 4 major themes (the environment, labor practices, business ethics, and sustainable procurement) and for 2016 obtained a score of 68/100, 4 points higher than the 64 obtained in 2015. To achieve this result, La Palette Rouge had taken some new measures, including:
- Signing a sponsorship agreement in favour of reforestation. LPR has signed an agreement for the reforestation of 15 hectares of forests with the association “Plantons pour l’avenir” (http://www.plantonspourlavenir.fr), thus helping to preserve a centuries-old sector of the economy. This approach aims to reduce or compensate for CO2 emissions related to LPR’s transport activities.
- In-house communication on business ethics. LPR has strengthened its internal communication on the theme of business policy. To do this, the division of Euro Pool Group distributed to its personnel materials related to the fight against corruption, conflicts of interest, fraud and anti-competitive practices, with which the pallet specialist expects them to comply.
- A process for monitoring its transport purchases. Since 2009, LPR has demonstrated its determination to exercise a responsible attitude to the purchase and use of its wood resources, the raw material of its pallets. LPR was already the first lessor in the sector to obtain PEFC certification in 2010.
Today, LPR is pursuing this approach by setting up a process for monitoring its transport purchases, reflected by the creation of a “green carrier” indicator enabling it to determine the “greenness” level of the transport it buys. This indicator is ultimately intended to enable LPR to select its transport partners on the basis of this criterion.
“The renewal of our EcoVadis Advanced Gold CSR rating is the result of our determination and the daily involvement of all LPR’s personnel. We are very proud of this result and are going to continue our actions on this topic in 2017,” says Emmanuelle Raynaud, LPR France’s Director for Sales Administration, who is in charge of the EcoVadis dossier.
