LPR has appointed automation veteran Sean Cushion to lead its UK & Ireland business. The move highlights the strategic importance of aligning pallet pooling with automated handling systems and stronger retailer partnerships.

September 2025, Toulouse, FR – European pallet pooling specialist LPR–La Palette Rouge has appointed Sean Cushion as Regional Manager for the UK & Ireland, effective July 1, 2025
Cushion will lead the senior management team responsible for the ongoing development and growth of LPR’s business across the UK and Ireland. His background brings a notable dimension to the role: nearly three decades of logistics and supply chain management, much of it at the intersection of automated warehousing and retail operations.
During his tenure at Vanderlande, Cushion sat on the UK Board and reported directly to the Managing Director. He oversaw service operations across the UK and Ireland, leading more than 130 employees. Under his watch, the company achieved record-breaking retrofit modification sales, consistent contract renewals with blue-chip clients such as ASDA, Tesco, DPD, and Next, and the rollout of cultural initiatives that boosted both customer loyalty and employee engagement.
“One of the things that attracted me to working with LPR-La Palette Rouge was its strong focus on sustainability. Whether that’s working with its customers on collaborative sustainability projects, or its accelerating progression into transport optimisation, I look forward to utilising my own experience and expertise to develop further strategies, as well of course, as working with the team to increase LPR’s foothold and coverage across the North Region,” Cushion said.
According to Jean-Luc Guenard, Managing Director of LPR-La Palette Rouge, Cushion is well positioned to accelerate growth:
“Given Sean’s experience and knowledge within the supply chain arena, I feel confident that he is best placed to drive the UK & Ireland business forward. He has a strong track record of leading high-performing teams, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering customer-focused solutions. His strategic mindset and operational expertise will be instrumental as we continue to grow, innovate, and deliver even greater value to our partners. I very much look forward to seeing where he leads this strategically important region next”.
“The appointment underscores not only LPR’s intent to strengthen its UK & Ireland business, but also the increasingly close relationship between pallet pooling and automated handling systems. With retailers relying more heavily on automation to meet throughput and labor challenges, leadership with deep experience in systems integration and retail engagement represents a strategic asset.
LPR, a division of Euro Pool Group, has specialized in pallet pooling for more than 30 years, operating exclusively in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. With a network of more than 130 service centers across Europe, LPR provides reusable pallet services designed to reduce environmental impact and support the transition to a circular economy.
