Mr Sirin Limpaitoon, President of China Merchants Loscam, has been elected as the Vice Chairman of APSF. APSF (“Asia Pallet System Federation”)  is a professional organisation of the Asian pallet industry. The announcement was made at the latest APSFGeneral Assembly held in Beijing on June 15, 2016,

Established in 2006 with China, Japan and South Korea as founding member countries, APSF now consists of 11 member countries from Asia. The objectives of APSF are to enhance logistics standardisation and to increase logistics efficiency, by developing pallet standardisation and pooling systems to promote trade exchange, cooperation and development in Asia. Currently, APSF is conducting R&D and formulating a plan to implement a pallet quality certification scheme in Asia.

Mr Limpaitoon joined Loscam in 1995 as Country Manager – Thailand. In 2010 he was appointed as Executive Vice President in charge of the Asian business, and in July 2015 assumed the role of President of the Loscam Group of Companies. Since the early 1990’s, Loscam has been developing an integrated pallet pooling network in the Asia Pacific region. It now operates in seven South East Asia countries, Greater China, Australia and New Zealand. Today, Loscam is the largest pallet pooling service provider in the Asia-Pacific region.

At his inauguration speech, Mr Limpaitoon expresses, “Standardisation is critical in modern supply chain, and a standardised pallet sets the foundation for further standardisation in the logistics supply chain”.

Mr Limpaitoon further states, “In Asia, Loscam has been actively engaged in the development of the logistics supply chain for more than 20 years. We work with major stakeholders in the FMCG and retail industry, as well as relevant government organisations to develop industry standardisation with the objective of optimising supply chain efficiency and lowering total logistics costs. In this regard, Loscam and I are very happy to be able to contribute to APSF and its members by sharing our extensive experience and by working closely with APSF members for the benefit of the industry.”

Loscam has been working with the local governments, industry organisations and businesses partners  across its operating countries to promote pallet standardisation. The first step it has been taking is to transform the individually owned pallets of diverse dimensions to its standardised size pooling pallets, and to assisting in the re-engineering of their supply chain logistics to leverage modernised pooling models.
