Litco International has announced the expansion of its custom crating operations with a move to a larger facility in Lordstown, Ohio, reflecting continued growth in demand for engineered shipping solutions. The company will relocate its crating division from a 14,000-square-foot site in Vienna, Ohio, to a new 40,000-square-foot facility, nearly tripling its operational footprint. The new location is expected to be fully operational beginning May 4.

According to Litco, the move is driven by sustained growth in its crating business, particularly in serving customers with complex and oversized shipments.
“This move is a direct result of the growth we’ve experienced in our crating division,” said Nick Gallo, General Manager. “The additional space allows us to scale production, improve workflow efficiency, and continue delivering high-quality, custom shipping solutions to our customers.”
Scaling Capacity for Custom Work
Litco’s crating division focuses on the design and manufacture of custom wooden crates engineered for a range of applications, from standard freight to highly specialized loads requiring tailored protection. The company emphasizes alignment with product specifications, handling requirements, and logistics conditions.
The expanded facility is expected to support higher production volumes, improved material flow, and more efficient handling of large or forecast-driven programs. For customers, that translates into greater capacity and more predictable lead times as volumes increase.
The larger footprint also positions Litco to take on more complex projects, particularly those involving oversized or precision-machined components, which are common in industrial and manufacturing supply chains.
Operational Efficiency and Growth Outlook

Beyond added square footage, the move is intended to streamline internal workflows and support future growth initiatives. The company noted that the new layout will improve production flow and allow for better coordination across projects.
Litco also indicated that the expansion may lead to additional hiring as operations ramp up, suggesting continued confidence in the crating segment.
