Laurence Tanty Joins Notbox in Europe

November 23, 2012 By Rick LeBlanc Leave a Comment

Laurence Tanty, one of the packaging industry’s most respected senior executives, is to act as European growth consultant to The Notbox Company, according to a company blog post. Her mission is to help spearhead the ‘tremendous potential’ in the market for sustainable and lower cost supply chain packaging solutions offered by Notbox.

During her career, Laurence has held a number of senior executive roles in the consumer goods and B2B packaging industries, working with private equity owned LINPAC Packaging Group and blue chip companies such as Mars and Sara Lee Corp.

At Notbox, Laurence will work closely with Managing Director, Jonathan Cobb, to promote Notboxes as the ‘leaner, meaner and greener’ alternative to the billions of single-use cardboard boxes moving in supply chains within Europe. Designed to be a strong, multi-trip alternative to cardboard boxes, the Notbox team are already working on projects that will help clients achieve cost savings of over $10 million by removing cardboard from their supply chain between Distribution Centre and store and also remove over 15 million tonnes of CO2 emissions in support of their Corporate & Social Responsibility programmes.

Laurence Tanty says that these figures are only the tip of the iceberg: “Over 55% of the estimated 49 billion movements of goods in Europe each year use corrugated cardboard boxes. In my view the share of reusable solutions will continue to grow because businesses have a strong commitment to sustainability, waste reduction, recycling and return logistics. All of these factors play to the strengths of Notbox.

“Today, businesses need lean logistics practices to reduce the costs of their supply chain and seek a quantifiable cost benefit in terms of a short-term payback on their investment. Notbox is able to demonstrate substantial savings in both cost and carbon emissions and can remove cardboard waste from the supply chain altogether. On that basis, the potential for Notbox in Europe is tremendous, and I am delighted to join the team in unlocking these opportunities.”

Commenting on the appointment, Jonathan Cobb said:  “Laurence is a highly successful business leader, who I believe will add significant value to Notbox. Her asset management, RTP solutions expertise and international experience will enable Notbox to accelerate its development and growth while her in-depth industry experience will prove invaluable in the successful promotion of Notbox for sustainable packaging solutions in supply chain across Europe and beyond.”

As well as their strength and reusability, Notboxes also fold flat, making them easy to backhaul, come in a range of sizes and colours, and can be easily branded. Bespoke Notboxes can also be produced for specific client requirements.
