Tosca, a forerunner in sustainable packaging and pooling services worldwide, has welcomed Jeff Poehls as its US Director of Protein Sales. With an extensive 33-year journey in the food sector, Poehls’ deep-rooted knowledge and proficiency will enhance Tosca’s industry standing.
Before becoming a part of the Tosca family, Poehls showcased his leadership at JBS, recognized as the world’s premier protein distributor. Before that, his tenure at Smithfield Foods over 20 years included pivotal roles, from Director of Engineering and Plant Manager to Senior Director of Business Development. Jeff Poehls earned his degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from William and Mary.
Poehls’ comprehensive understanding of all facets of the supply chain, from engineering and operations to driving value with retailers, uniquely positions him to drive strong relationships for Tosca, the pooling services provider said in a statement.
“I am thrilled to join the Tosca team and build lasting partnerships with leaders in the food supply chain,” expressed Jeff Poehls. “Tosca’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in everything they do. I am already proud to work with a company that aligns so perfectly with my own values, and I am eager to lead the charge in driving transformative value for our partners.”
“Tosca is the US’s largest pooler of reusable packaging for protein and poultry,” added Steve Arendsen, President of Tosca North America. “But it’s such a massive industry, there’s still much ground to be gained in helping suppliers and retailers make the conversion. Jeff’s deep understanding of this supply chain uniquely qualifies him to help the industry optimize the bottom-line and sustainability benefits of reusables.”
