Pallet and packaging giant doubles down on farming, food, and export markets with new sites in Shepparton and the UK.

James Jones & Sons Ltd has announced the acquisitions of Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd in Australia and United Box Ltd in the UK, furthering its global expansion strategy and deepening its support for food and agricultural supply chains.
United Box Ltd, a UK-based agricultural box manufacturer originally formed as a joint venture between James Jones & Sons and Scott Group in 2003, has long been a trusted supplier to the food industry across the UK and Ireland. The full acquisition allows James Jones & Sons to bring this business fully under its control and to more tightly align it with its core operations.
Simultaneously, the company’s Australian subsidiary, Hyne Group, has acquired Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd, located in Shepparton, Victoria. The business manufactures pallets and bins for some of Australia’s largest food producers and export markets. According to Jim Bindon, CEO of Hyne Group, “Clients include five of Australia’s largest food producers and this offers further diversity opportunities for our national pallet customer base. Shepparton is also strategically located between Hyne Timber’s Tumbarumba sawmill and key Melbourne metropolitan markets, offering some solid locational synergies for both raw material timber supply and freight efficiencies.”
