Munich, Germany — December 9, 2025 — IFCO has announced Stonepeak as a new co-investor following the exit of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), marking another significant step in the company’s long-term growth strategy. Stonepeak joins Triton, which has held a stake in IFCO since 2019, as the company expands its SmartCycle™ pooling network, digital services, and automation investments supporting fresh-food supply chain resilience.
The new investment strengthens IFCO’s ability to scale reusable packaging systems worldwide, particularly in North America, while deepening its capacity to support growers, producers, and retailers looking for reliable, low-impact supply chain solutions. Stonepeak brings extensive expertise in mission-critical infrastructure, including logistics networks, cold storage, and environmental services. That experience aligns with IFCO’s ambition to push further into digital tracking, automation, and circular-economy solutions built around reusable plastic crates (RPCs).

“We are delighted to welcome Stonepeak as a new co-investor… Their contribution will help us further strengthen the capabilities our customers rely on at scale,” said Mike Pooley, CEO of IFCO. He thanked ADIA for its partnership and noted Triton’s continued support in areas such as digital transformation and M&A. “We look forward to working closely with Triton and Stonepeak as we enter this exciting next chapter.”
Stonepeak expressed confidence in the company’s strategy and operational performance. “IFCO’s market-leading logistics network, strong customer relationships, history of innovation, and essential role in the global grocery supply chain give us tremendous confidence in the continued success of the business,” said Nikolaus Woloszczuk, Senior Managing Director at Stonepeak. “We are excited to partner with Triton to support IFCO along this growth trajectory.”
Triton also emphasized its commitment to the next phase of IFCO’s development. “We would like to thank ADIA for the trustful collaboration up to this point. IFCO has seen an exceptional development in the previous five years and we continue to see significant growth potential. We are looking forward to further developing IFCO together with our advisory board, Stonepeak, and the management team,” said Stephan Förschle, Partner and Co-Head of Business Services at Triton.
The strengthened ownership structure supports IFCO’s global plans, including:
- Expanding operations in the United States and reinforcing circular economy initiatives
- Scaling automation, digital tracking, and data-driven customer services
- Enhancing network capacity for growers, producers, and retail partners
- Advancing innovation across fresh-food logistics and reusable packaging
With Stonepeak and Triton aligned on long-term value creation, IFCO gains added financial strength and sector expertise as demand for reusable systems accelerates worldwide.
Additional Update: IFCO Argentina Strengthens Its Local Network
Buenos Aires — IFCO Systems Argentina SA has acquired select assets from Argen-Pool Systems SA, strengthening IFCO’s operational footprint in the country. The transaction, completed November 15, supports IFCO Argentina’s ongoing strategy to enhance its local pooling capacity and broaden resources available for logistics and crate-pooling services.
The implementation of the acquired assets will follow the agreed-upon procedures and operational timelines between IFCO Argentina and Argen-Pool. Marval O’Farrell Mairal advised IFCO on structuring, documentation, and negotiation of the agreement.
This acquisition reinforces IFCO’s continued investment in regional market development and the expansion of its reusable packaging network across Latin America.
