Guardian is offering a free year-long trial of their Scaled GPS/WiFi/Cell tracker services to manufacturers within the beverage, automotive, and agricultural industries.
Guardian has gained a strong reputation in the automotive industry with its ability to track down and recover lost pallets, racks, and containers. In past years, the company has recovered tens of millions of dollars worth of missing, mis-shipped, stolen, or otherwise lost returnable packaging assets.
Guardian’s services can be broken down into three parts. First, Guardian provides trackers specifically tailored to long-term supply chain tracking. Second, Guardian provides consulting services to identify different kinds of issues throughout your supply chain. Lastly, once issues are identified, Guardian gets onsite at problem locations, assists in the recovery of assets, and gets to the root cause of observed losses, reducing or eliminating future losses.
Guardian’s tracker technology is based on a combination of GPS, WiFi, and Cell network communications, where the physical location of each tag is actively tracked and observed to determine the overall flow of pallets, racks, and containers. Guardian’s tracking strategy is a very different approach to visibility than RFID and BLE, where every rack and container is tracked within a network. Instead of tracking all pallets, racks, and containers, Guardian only tracks a small fraction of these assets and monitors their long-term movements. For example, large plastic pallet fleets can be tracked at < 1% of the total fleet with outstanding system visibility with a high rate of return on investment.
Guardian applies its technology to locate loss and dwell points in the supply chain rather than focusing on exact inventories within intended supply chain locations. The vast majority of all returnable packaging losses occur outside of the intended supply chain and are rarely ever reported. Monitoring returnable packaging fleets with scaled GPS tracking gives exact visibility to those losses.
Guardian can identify loss points anywhere in North America because their trackers communicate location data over cell networks instead of handheld or dock readers. Whether your truckload of pallets is mis-shipped cross country, far from the intended loop, or even just across town, you will still be able to easily see where and when the mis-ship occurred and get them back into your system.
Guardian’s services help in making your supply chain more secure end-to-end
Guardian’s free tracking trial includes 10 GPS trackers and a full year of network and platform service. Trackers can be used on standardized fleets like plastic pallets or on specialized racks/containers. If your company is experiencing returnable asset losses in any form, this free trial can give incredible insight into where the losses are occurring.
It is worth noting that Guardians tracking technology works extremely well on shared fleets where a specific pallet, container, or rack may take thousands of different paths through its lifetime. The routes in which these returnable assets take do not have to be specific between a designated loop.
