They can’t take all the hassle out of moving, but three local entrepreneurs pledge to make it easier on movers and the environment.
Their startup company, Greenway Crates, rents reusable packing crates and custom-fit dollies to individuals and moving companies. The crates, made from recycled plastic, are larger and sturdier than traditional cardboard moving boxes and thus are able to store items more efficiently and cut down on the number of trips required for moves.
Most critically, the owners say, when the move is over, someone from Greenway Crates will pick them up for the next customer – reducing the amount of cardboard likely to wind up in a landfill.
