Power Packaging, an Exel company, is expanding its capabilities for serving leading beverage and food brands by obtaining a grant of inspection for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The certification positions the company as a leading contract manufacturer qualified to produce goods that carry USDA food safety labeling on products that include meat and poultry.
The USDA grant inspection builds on Power Packaging’s comprehensive food safety program that ensures the most stringent approach to delivering high quality, safe products. The company’s food safety program covers four main areas: Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Environmental Monitoring, and Cleaning and Sanitation. All ingredients, primary
packaging materials and finished products are fully traceable. Other safety programs include pandemic preparedness, security and others.
