Rotom is taking another step towards becoming the European market leader in sustainable load carriers for every supply chain. The company has reached an agreement with Englmeier Paletten & Verpackungen to become part of the Rotom group from now on and is thus expanding further in South-East Germany. Headquartered in the Netherlands, Rotom Europe is a leading provider of load carrier services, including wooden and plastic pallets, metal rolling containers, reverse logistics, rental and pooling services, and logistics solutions in 11 European countries. In 2022, the group’s turnover exceeded €220 million, and it currently has more than 500 employees.
Englmeier is headquartered in Hengersberg (Bavaria) and was founded in 1996 by director Ferdinand Englmeier. The company focuses on new and used wooden pallets and related packaging products.
“Over the past decades, we have built up a strong customer base spread across various sectors in Germany,” explained Ferdinand Englmeier, Managing Director, Englmeier. With a strong ‘can-do’ mentality, we have helped many customers with their logistics needs in the best and most efficient way possible. We have also continuously developed our business sustainably, which recently led to the installation of a heating system based on wood chips and solar panels. As a result, we produce most of the energy we need for our activities ourselves, resulting in an ecological and climate-neutral process that is DIN ISO EN 14001 certified.”
Reactions to the Englmeier Acquisition
Arjan Kuiper, CEO, Rotom Europe, celebrated the announcement. “This acquisition fits perfectly into Rotom’s strategy to become the European market leader in sustainable load carriers. We share the same service-oriented customer approach and ‘can-do’ mentality, allowing the merged company to expand Englmeier’s activities with Rotom’s product and service offering, such as a wider range of wooden pallets and related pooling services, as well as plastic and metal load carriers.”
Uwe Steingräber, Managing Director, Rotom Germany, also waxed positive on the acquisition. “I know Mr. Englmeier as a very professional and reliable entrepreneur and I am very much looking forward to working with him and growing the company and its team of employees even further.”
Rotom optimizes customers’ supply chains – from start to finish – by using an innovative range of logistics goods for transport and storage. This is made possible by a single point of contact and is supported by an extensive European network of more than 30 companies.
