The PPS Group, UK-based specialists in providing returnable equipment solutions within the supply chain, have launched a new and improved version of their bespoke asset tracking and management system Enable which will be available for customers to use to track and manage their own equipment.
Having spent almost 30 years developing their core services such as rental, pooling, and washing for a range of returnable transit packaging, the PPS Group are experts in asset management and developed Enable based on years of industry experience.
Enable provides customers with a real-time overview of how many assets they currently have in their pool at any one time across all their sites, whilst allowing them to de-hire any equipment that may be leaving their premises as it moves through the supply chain. The ability to easily track and manage equipment provides customers with a number of benefits; An efficient, well-managed pool reduces the amount of equipment needed by preventing stock-piling and ensuring equipment is always in the right place, this, in turn, ensures maximum value for money for the investment in the pool.
The success of Enable ensured that it became an essential part of a customer’s ability to manage the assets they had rented from PPS, and lead to the Staffordshire based company investing heavily in an updated system that is now available as a standalone service. For a monthly fee, companies can have their own licensed version of Enable to manage their own assets or have PPS manage the equipment on a customer’s behalf, ensuring the correct quantity of equipment is in the right location at the right time.
In addition to the increase in efficiency, PPS says that its customers are experiencing a large reduction in lost equipment within the supply chain as the transparent system enables all parties to see when and where equipment was moved.
