- CHEP Canada receives a fourth consecutive CSR Gold Award and the 2019 EcoVadis Sustainability Leadership Award for Northern America.
- CHEP is the only Canadian company recognized by EcoVadis as “leading the charge” in sustainability performance.
TORONTO, Ontario – CHEP Canada, a Brambles company and provider of supply chain platforms and solutions, has been named a 2019 Best Performer in Northern America in the Sustainability Leadership Awards announced by independent rating agency EcoVadis. The awards, as EcoVadis notes, honor companies “leading the charge in sustainability performance and innovation around the globe.”
In further recognition of the company’s leadership, CHEP Canada has received a fourth consecutive Gold Medal from EcoVadis for ranking in the top 1% of all suppliers assessed on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance.
To determine award winners, EcoVadis assesses 35,000 suppliers across 150 business sectors. Its methodology is built on international CSR standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000, covering 150 spend categories and 140 countries.
“Being recognized as the only Top Performer in Canada is a tremendous distinction, and a direct reflection of CHEP’s circular business model,” says Paola Floris, vice president, and general manager, CHEP Canada. “We’re also very honored to receive the Gold Medal again. Social responsibility is part of our corporate DNA: Sharing and reusing our finite resources is the right thing for society – and our business. Our circular model defines not just how we do things but who we are.”
CHEP Europe and CHEP Australia have also received EcoVadis Gold Recognition for CSR in recent years.
CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organization on earth. The company’s share and reuse business model is inherently sustainable. It supports global moves toward a circular economy and addresses societal expectations for businesses to reduce their environmental impact.
In addition to its circular business model, CHEP recently launched its Zero Waste World initiative, partnering with customers to eliminate waste, eradicate empty miles and cut out inefficiencies in the supply chain. Through collaboration, the organization finds new ways to meet growing consumer demand while shrinking the impact of its operations. It leverages the business’s unique position in the supply chain to help customers create more value and use fewer resources, together.
