Blacksburg, Virginia – July 6, 2022 – After a successful eight-year business relationship between White & Company LLC and Ongweoweh Corp., the specialized consulting and software development firm has been sold to its creator; Dr. Marshall (Mark) White, Professor Emeritus, and creator of the Packaging Systems and Design program at Virginia Tech. An agreement between the Ongweoweh leadership and Dr. White was finalized in June, making him the sole owner, moving forward. Continuing a legacy within the wood pallet and container industry, Dr. White will retain his son, Braden, as Managing Director, and the senior programmer, Dr. Mark Scott, for the continued growth of the firm.
The customer service Braden provided in the past will continue, uninterrupted. The new White & Co LLC of Virginia will remain close partners with Ongweoweh, considering all of the support they have provided during their ownership.
Following up on the vast academic and industrial history of Dr. White and the firm he founded in 2007, he and his staff plan to proceed with enhancements to both innovative CAD products, Best Load™ and Best Pallet™. The enhancements will make these design tools much more valuable to the pallet and packaging suppliers as well as their customers and other supply chain service providers. Consulting services that specialize in pallet and unit load design optimization, will continue. This service will also include supply chain efficiency evaluations via the proprietary, AADTI (Audit – Analyze – Design – Test – Implement) methodology.

The relationship between Dr. White, the new White & Co., and Virginia Tech will be the key component of the expanded technology and services provided. As a member of the VT Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design, White & Co. will continue to offer ASTM or ISTA pallet, packaging, and unit load testing services.
“I am excited to connect product and service development at White & Co. with my research at Virginia Tech,” Dr. White commented. “We take the new knowledge created from research, directly to commerce. It is a win/win/win for Virginia Tech, White & Co., and its clients.”
The team at White & Co. is extremely excited to have complete control over the direction of the most advanced unit load design optimization software, as well as the most user-friendly and affordable pallet design and structural analysis software. It provides industries around the Globe with credible options when it comes to CAD tools used to improve the design of packaging materials and how they interface with intended supply chains. Dr. White’s experience in this field began in the late 70s, thus there is no better source for this expertise. Braden is honored to be on board to continue learning from his father and furthering his career, which also began at VT with two degrees in wood and packaging science.
The future is bright for this diversified firm and all are encouraged to take advantage of the services it provides. Demo videos and free trial installations of Best Load and Best Pallet as well as detailed descriptions of the consulting services are available at www.whiteandcompany.net.
