The Craemer Group is expanding its CB3 series of plastic pallet boxes with the introduction of the new CB3 Low, a compact, reduced-height pallet box designed for ergonomic handling and demanding industrial applications.

Recently unveiled at the LogiMAT 2026 trade fair in March, the CB3 Low builds on the existing CB3 product family by targeting operations that require the secure handling of heavy goods in lower-volume applications. According to Craemer, the new model was developed in response to specific market requirements for a more compact pallet box that still delivers high structural strength and durability. “Following on from the CB3 (740 mm high) and the large-volume CB3 High (1140 mm high), the Craemer experts have now developed the new CB3 Low pallet in response to specific market requirements,” the company stated. “This is a logical extension of the Craemer portfolio in industrial dimensions (1200 x 1000 mm).”
With an overall height of 580 millimetres, the CB3 Low is intended to support manual operations and ergonomic workflows while maintaining the heavy-duty performance associated with the CB series. Pallet boxes are an important category of reusable transport packaging.
Designed for Heavy Loads and Sensitive Goods
Craemer emphasized that the reduced-height design does not come at the expense of structural integrity. The pallet box features a reinforced base intended for heavy-duty storage and transport tasks, while also supporting pressure-sensitive goods.
“This large, completely one-piece moulded load carrier offers high stability and resistance – even under demanding conditions,” the company explained. “Its carefully thought-out, functional design ensures it is comfortable to use in everyday applications.”
Manufactured from food-safe, fully recyclable polyethylene, the CB3 Low is available with three unwelded runners as standard, with a nine-foot version offered as an option. The runner version weighs 34.5 kilograms and provides a payload capacity of 750 kilograms, a stacking load capacity of 4,500 kilograms, and an internal volume of approximately 430 litres.
Craemer noted that advanced finite element modelling (FEM) simulation played a key role in developing the new pallet box. “Key features such as base rigidity and stacking properties were virtually tested and optimised using finite element modelling (FEM),” the company stated.
The development process included updates to the rib structure, reinforcement of the T-profile runner connection, modifications to the centre posts, and improved impact protection around forklift entry points. The result is a pallet box with balanced force distribution and high dimensional stability, remaining reliable even in demanding everyday logistics operations.
Features Support Hygiene and Tracking
Like other pallet boxes in the CB series, the CB3 Low includes integrated stacking cams designed to securely lock into stacking pockets on the base support. The seamless, one-piece construction and smooth internal surfaces are intended to simplify cleaning and drying operations, particularly in food-related environments. The pallet box can reportedly withstand temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C, with short-term resistance up to +90°C.
Craemer also incorporated transponder holders on the long sides to support digital tracking initiatives, while print fields on the short sides allow for customer branding or identification markings. A custom-fit lid is available as an optional accessory.
Craemer expects the CB3 Low to find applications in sectors where heavy goods require compact storage and transport solutions. Typical applications include the food industry, fish processing, mechanical engineering, and metal processing operations.
“Moreover, this compact pallet box is ideal for use in metal processing and mechanical engineering, e.g., for transporting and storing heavy parts or components,” the company noted.
