Contrak Container from Adelaide South Australia has introduced GPS tracking into its produce and warehouse folding bins range. The company has attached and sealed a GPS tracking unit within the bin walls. The GPS unit is totally encased and will not interfere with the bin function and is able to be removed
The Contrak GPS Bin unit has been trailed throughout South Australia and Northern Territory, enabling customers to pinpoint the bin location and be advised every two days in precise detail using Google Maps to indicate location and address.
The company reports that customer feedback is very encouraging with equipment losses being zero. Users also appreciate being able to locate equipment at any destination throughout Australia
Another major feedback advantage allows the equipment to be returned to the home base faster. Faster cycle time enables better bin utilization by the days that bins remain idle. Less dwell time translates into the need for fewer bins and a lower capital requirement in equipment purchasing.
The Contrak GPS Bin will advise bin movement and allow the customer to view the location on an iPhone,iPad, or laptop using Google Maps also allowing the customer to contact the unit by phone and change the reporting cycle to daily or weekly as required. It will report its location for around three years without replacing the batteries and the customer will be advised when batteries need to be replaced.
Contrak offers the customers a lease to own option for Bins with or without tracking over 2 or 3 years at prices well below current hire rates also offering an outright sale option the only extra cost to achieve Contrak GPS Bin tracking is for the customer to purchasers a SIM card at $4 per month.
Contrack believes its GPS Bin can help customers stop equipment losses, reduce turnover time, reduce capital requirement, and know equipment location.
