Overview
UFP Packaging serves industrial and OEM markets with a wide portfolio that spans wooden pallets and crates, corrugated conversion, protective packaging (foam, films, labels, strapping), and metal fabrication. Unlike single-material suppliers, UFP differentiates itself through a mixed-material engineering model that lets buyers optimize cost, strength, weight, reuse cycles, and pack density in one integrated program.
On Reusable Packaging News, we track UFP Packaging for its role in reusable crate systems, chain-of-custody fiber sourcing, and design-led approaches for high-value goods — including medical, technology, industrial, glass, heavy equipment, and appliances. UFP’s engineering-first approach aligns closely with themes in our
Reusable Packaging Technology & Services Hub.
Innovations
U-Loc 200: Tool-Free, Reusable Crate System
What it is. A reusable crate system using the U-Loc 200 tool-free fastener, designed to replace nails or staples for safer, faster assembly.
How it works. The fastener is polyamide (nylon) with finger grip, anti-slip teeth, and corner hooks that lock panels together. It supports repeat use cycles and reduces injury risk.
Where it fits. High-value, delicate, or frequently shipped items — medical equipment, technology, appliances, glass products — where reusable systems and faster returns matter.

Sustainability & Certifications
UFP Packaging’s corrugated division holds both FSC® Chain of Custody and SFI® Chain of Custody certifications, ensuring verifiable sourcing and full traceability for customers who require certified fiber.
- FSC™ C221284
- SFI-03837
These programs support ESG reporting requirements and complement reusable packaging strategies by strengthening material traceability across mixed-material systems — a theme emphasized in our Reusable Packaging Explainer.
