After the successful development of PAKi logistics GmbH, Kühnhold will take on new challenges
Christian Kühnhold, CEO of PAKi Logistics GmbH and member of the board at Faber Halbertsma Group, is leaving the company at the end of September 2018. Following the successful development of PAKi Logistics GmbH and its integration into the Pooling Partners company of the Faber Halbertsma Group, Kühnhold would once again like to focus on new entrepreneurial challenges. Christian Agasse will be his successor in the role of CEO.
Christian Kühnhold took over management of PAKi Logistics GmbH (PAKi) as a buy-in manager together with private equity partners in 2005 as part of a private equity transaction. At the time, PAKi was a service provider in the field of Euro pallets and box pallets for freight forwarders in Germany and had about 50 employees. Kühnhold’s goal was to grow the PAKi business across Europe and expand their offerings with other industry-leading services.
In the following years Kühnhold succeeded in expanding the business to numerous European countries. The pooling services were expanded to the entire supply chain of industry and commerce. At the same time, the 1.4 Quarter pallet introduced a new and now very successful charge carrier to retailers.
When the private equity partners left in 2012, PAKi was experiencing strong growth and had grown to over 100 employees. With Faber Halbertsma Group they found a financially strong Dutch family business, run by the third generation, that successfully operated in the pooling and the production of pallets. In 2012, PAKi Logistics GmbH became a 100% part of the Faber Halbertsma Group; Christian Kühnhold remained CEO of PAKi and joined the board of the group.
Under the roof of the Faber Halbertsma Group and led by Kühnhold and his colleague Agasse, PAKi successfully continued to progress and today, with its now 160 employees, is well integrated into the Faber Halbertsma Group, which is led by Ingrid Faber as its CEO.
After Kühnhold essentially achieved his goal for PAKi and the company is still experiencing stable growth, he now wants to once again take on a new entrepreneurial challenge and find new ways to realize his vision to increase sustainability and efficiency in logistics.
Christian Kühnhold: “I’m very grateful for my time at PAKi. The company is well-positioned and has the necessary, strong support of Ingrid Faber and her group to continue providing innovative and profitable solutions to the market.”
Ingrid Faber, CEO Faber Halbertsma Group: “We thank Christian Kühnhold for his exceptional work. From the start, he continuously further developed PAKi and provided significant impulses for profitable growth. We wish him all the best in his new challenges. Christian Agasse will succeed Kühnhold as CEO and is supported in this role by the group and the entire team. He has been with the company for over 10 years, previously as COO, has a lot of international experience and worked closely with Kühnhold both as a colleague and a friend.”
Christian Kühnhold will leave the group on September 30th.
