China Merchants Loscam International Conference

China Merchants Loscam held its first International Conference n Melbourne from 24th to 27th of September since the acquisition by China Merchants Group in 2010. The theme of this conference was “One Loscam” and approximately 80 management executives from Australia, SE Asia and Greater China participated in this conference.

Dr Raymond Yu, Vice President of China Merchants Group and Director of China Merchants Loscam addressed the conference to urge the succession by new generation in order to cope with the growth and continuous development of Loscam

On the first day of conference, a site tour to Truganina Super Depot was organized for all participants. This is the largest facility and the first major capital expenditure in the business by China Merchants Group since it acquired Loscam. With $20 million capital investment, total land size of this facility is over 31,500sqm with the repair capacity for up to 11 repair lines and 18,000 pallets per day.

The three-day conference was hosted by Mark Daniel, CEO of China Merchants Loscam. During the conference, he discussed the challenges and strategies in different regions with the country and state managers.

In addition to the business review and forecast, building up an organisational culture was covered in the conference. With the theme of “One Loscam”, a workshop was organised by a well-known Australian corporate management consultant firm to deliver the importance of communication and teamwork within the organisation. Furthermore, sharing session from the CEO of LINFOX and a tour to Woolworths DC enabled participants to understand more on customer needs and service level required.
