CHEP USA Receives ISO 9001: 2008 Certification To Enhance Customer Service Offering

October 17, 2012 By Rick LeBlanc 1 Comment

CHEP USA, a leading provider of managed pallet pooling solutions, has achieved certification as an ISO 9001:2008, Quality Management Systems compliant organization. This certification was accredited by the Standards American Registrations Authority (SARA) of Pleasanton, California.

ISO 9000
is a family of standards related to quality management systems and is designed to aid companies in ensuring their quality processes are robust and applied consistently across the entire organization.
To become certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant, CHEP USA underwent a 12-month evaluation process that included the implementation of a formal quality management system (QMS), as well as robust employee training on formal operating procedures and measurement systems related to quality. The process culminated with a 10-day, third-party audit by SARA to confirm CHEP’s quality system met the standards required for certification. A certificate of registration was issued on August 24, 2012.Achieving ISO 9001 certification means that CHEP USA was benchmarked against other mature businesses and found to have a best-in-class quality system. Skip Miller, CHEP Vice President of Global Quality, said, “At CHEP, we are committed to delivering on our quality commitments to our customers. Achieving ISO 9001 certification means we now have an international entity certifying all aspects of our quality process.”

Kim Rumph, President of CHEP USA, added, “Becoming ISO 9001 certified is a validation to our customers that we are committed to consistently delivering product and service quality excellence to everyone we serve. This international certification of our quality processes provides our customers with an added sense of confidence that CHEP USA is a strategic supply chain partner.”

ISO 9001 is a worldwide standard administered by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), based in Switzerland. ISO 9001 is currently in use by close to one million organizations around the world. Additional information is available at http://www.iso.org/

Having an ISO certification makes a company or store very popular because they are thought to have quality products and give the best services. People will be confident in their dealings with the company.
