Tiel service center offers CHEP employees sustainable and comfortable office and break-out space.

Mechelen, Belgium—CHEP, a global logistics and supply chain solutions expert, recently celebrated the official reopening of its offices and facilities at the Tiel service center in Tiel, Netherlands. After seven months of renovation, the service center is once again fully ready for the logistics challenges of the future.
The service plant in Tiel is one of the service centers completely owned by CHEP. Every day, thousands of wooden pallets are inspected and repaired. A total of 71 workers are employed to inspect and repair the well-known blue pallets. This refurbishment provides a more comfortable and inviting relaxation area for employees. This investment by CHEP is also positive news for employment in the future and proof of CHEP’s engagement for this location or, as Christophe Campe, Senior Vice President of Europe Supply Chain, put it during his opening speech: “Tiel is here to stay.”
In 1995, CHEP opened a service plant in Tiel. Since then, several renovations have already occurred to the plant area, including a fully automated line commissioned in 2013.
The renovation of the offices and cafeteria started in September 2023 and is now fully completed. From now on, CHEP’s field teams can also work more comfortably from this location or receive customers in the renovated meeting room. This room is flexible in set-up, so staff can also be trained here.
Sustainability and safety are top priorities at CHEP, not only in its business but also in its operational areas. This also applies to the renovation of the facilities, where sustainable and safe materials were deliberately chosen. “With the renovated offices, canteen and changing rooms, we try to maximise our attractiveness as an employer and thus also aim to reach more ‘women in plants’,” said Tim van Hardeveld, Plant Manager in Tiel.
