CHEP Germany Supports Cologne Festival “The City of Tomorrow” with 1,200 Pallets

June 26, 2017 By Rick LeBlanc

Cologne, June 26, 2017 – CHEP, the company for supply chain solutions, supports the Cologne festival “The City of Tomorrow”, which takes place from 29 June to 2 July in the district of Mülheim, with 1,200 of its blue pallets. The festival will be the finale of the two-year project “Seeing the City from the Other Side”, where Cologne plays with the city of tomorrow and asks citizens, artists and city planners about their perspectives and visions. During the festival, a city of blue CHEP pallets is created under the Mülheim Bridge, where musicians, artists and citizens celebrate and discuss the city of the future. The “Agora”, the center of the festival, consists of huge pallet furniture. For dinner and cooking together, a 25-meter-long blackboard with accompanying benches and a counter is created.

The “Agora,” the center of the festival, consists of huge pallet furniture. For dinner and cooking together, a 25-meter-long blackboard with accompanying benches and a counter was created. Also the U-shaped discussion forum, the grandstand, market stalls and an info point are exclusively made of blue CHEP pallets. For the construction of oversized pallet furniture, the logistical expert provided 1,200 of its high-quality pallets, corresponding to more than two full truck loads.

“At CHEP, we attach great importance to sustainability and offer logistics solutions that conserve resources and reduce CO2 emissions. The event ‘City of Tomorrow’ therefore fits very well with the topics we are dealing with. Like the organizers of the festival, CHEP also tackles societal challenges, For example, to create a cleaner future through effective goods transports. That is why we are supporting the show Cologne in this unique project “, explained Kai Derda, Managing Director of CHEP Deutschland.
