CHEP Certified as a Top Employer Europe Due to Excellent Employee Conditions and HR Practices

February 6, 2018 By Rick LeBlanc

UK, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Poland and Ireland all accredited

Top Employer Europe 2018 e1517939336237Weybridge, UK – 6th February 2018: CHEP, the supply chain solutions company, has been certified as a 2018 Top Employer Europe following accreditation in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Poland, and Ireland by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), a global certifier recognising excellence in employee conditions. Companies needed to get at least 5 countries certified to achieve EU status.

“CHEP belongs to a very exclusive global community of Top Employers and it’s continuously showing great achievements,” stated David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute. “It started off being certified in countries such as Spain and the UK, but recently, it has achieved the certification as Top Employers Europe 2018 after Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland and, of course, Spain and UK passed individually this demanding process”.

“CHEP is a company focused on high quality, not only regarding their products or safety standards but especially ensuring exciting career opportunities for their employees in their worldwide locations, attracting the best talent with outstanding conditions and making continuous efforts to develop their people and open up their opportunities.”

TEI awards this certification only to organisations that achieve the highest standards of excellence in employee conditions. Following validation and an external audit, performance scores are rated against an international standard. The program recognises leading employers around the world by assessing employee offerings across nine topics:

>     Talent Strategy>     Workplace Planning
>     On-boarding>     Learning & Development
>     Performance Management>     Leadership Development
>     Career & Succession Management>     Compensation & Benefits
>     Culture

“We are in a people business, and we recognise that our most valuable assets are our people,” stated Ruediger Heim, VP Human Resources CHEP Europe, Africa, India and Middle East. “We also recognise that engaging and enabling our employees to make them proud of what they do is not only key to our success, but also key to the success of our customers and shareholders.”

A primary aspect of the Top Employer certification is the ability to show a clear, intrinsic link between an organisation’s business strategy and its talent strategy. “Here at CHEP we always focus on our people first, something demonstrated within the strategic priorities set out by our leadership team, which puts investment in our people at the forefront of what we do,” Heim added.

CHEP is driven to develop individuals’ careers and supports them throughout their journey with the company by providing:

  • Learning Academies in core business areas of Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance
  • Access to Online Learning 24/7
  • Career Planning Guidance tools
  • Global Centres of Excellence to help shape leading employee offerings
  • Best in class technology and tools

“Every CHEP employee is given the opportunity to develop his or her career in a multi-national company, while always being seen as an individual who is working for a business that has a purpose, in a dynamic culture, among great people. This recognition by the Top Employers Institute demonstrates our belief in continuously striving to be better through benchmarking our practices and consistently putting people at the heart of what we do”, Heim concluded.

CHEP recently partnered with Leading Executives Advancing Diversity (LEAD) in the retail and consumer goods industry to further advance its support to workplace inclusivity and diversity.
