CHEP appoints Katrin Zeiler to the role of Senior Director Zero Waste World and Customer Innovation & Solutions in Europe

Katrin Zeiler CHEP

CHEP, the supply chain solutions company, has announced the appointment of Katrin Zeiler to the newly-created position of Senior Director, Zero Waste World and Customer Innovation & Solutions in Europe.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Marketing in Europe, Zeiler will drive new customer collaboration initiatives aimed at unlocking circularity from supply chains and building more sustainable and smarter supply chains in Europe.

Launched in Europe a year ago, CHEP’s Zero Waste World programme is a working collaboration that brings together leading retailers and manufacturers to tackle three challenges: eliminating packaging waste, eradicating empty transport miles and cutting out inefficiencies.

“Zero Waste World is demonstrating the power of partnerships on shared challenges,” said Nick Gibbons, Vice President, Strategy and Marketing in Europe. “We are really proud of the results derived from some of the joint projects we’ve undergone with our customers. I’m sure Katrin’s background in innovation and community development will help CHEP accelerate our ambition to unlock circularity for the benefit of our customers and the planet.”

As part of the company’s Sustainability targets for 2025, CHEP aims to increase the number of customer collaborations, doubling the impact and the number of current collaboration initiatives. Looking forward, the Zero Waste World programme will continue to capitalise on its scale, data and relationships and will leverage its digital capabilities and new products and services for maximum impact.

Before joining CHEP in April 2020, Katrin Zeiler held various roles leading global innovation initiatives in the logistics industry, bringing expertise around Big Data, Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), robotics and sustainable logistic solutions including Program Director Innovation Centre Americas for DHL and Head of Customer Engagement at the Innovation Centre in Germany.

“I am thrilled to take on this exciting responsibility and drive collaboration to expand CHEP’s Zero Waste vision to our customers,” Zeiler said. “I will put my passion for customer-centricity, innovation, and sustainability at its core to co-create and deliver new innovations and scalable solutions to the world’s leading manufacturers, retailers, start-ups and more champions on Zero Waste.”
