CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container pooling services, has signed a three-year contract with Boughey Distribution, the UK’s leading ambient grocery distribution and warehousing storage specialist. The new agreement builds on the existing relationship between the two organisations, spanning almost 30 years.

Boughey Distribution Managing Director Keith Forster said: “We’ve been working with CHEP for such a long time now; they understand our business and the way we operate. They also understand our requirements and are able to adapt and be flexible at relatively short notice. These qualities are really important to us as a business, as it gives us peace of mind and confidence that we know we will always have the right products in the right quantity in the right place at the right time.”

Under the new agreement, CHEP will add 40,000 pallet flows to its existing business with Boughey Distribution, bringing the total number to more than 600,000 per annum, covering a mixture of industry standard B1210A pallets (1200x100mm), Europallets (1200x800mm) and display pallets (800x600mm).

CHEP UK & Ireland Director of Retail & Asset Management, Gordon Corbett, said: “We’re delighted that Boughey has committed its future pallet business to CHEP in this way. I think this demonstrates the strength of our existing relationship and is testimony to the hard work we have put in to get to where we are today. I’m really looking forward to working with Keith and his team to see how we can develop our relationship further.”

With 580 staff, 130 articulated units, 275 trailers, 900,000 sq fet of warehousing across two sites, Boughey Distribution is the UK’s leading ambient grocery distribution and warehousing storage specialist. Without the highest levels of service and commitment, however, they count for nothing. That’s why some of the UK’s leading grocery names choose Boughey to deliver on their promises to retail customers efficiently, cost effectively and with unparalleled expertise.
