June 2025 – Amsterdam – Cabka N.V., a leading manufacturer of reusable transport packaging from recycled plastic, has been awarded the Platinum Medal by EcoVadis, the highest distinction issued by the global sustainability ratings platform. The recognition marks a significant upgrade from last year’s Gold rating and reflects Cabka’s continued momentum in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
With a score of 82 points, Cabka now ranks in the top 1% of all companies evaluated worldwide, a notable increase from its 2024 score of 72. The improved rating positions Cabka as one of the highest-performing companies in its sector for sustainability management.
“Receiving the EcoVadis Platinum Medal is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability,” said Alexander Masharov, CEO of Cabka Group. “Improving our score shows that we are continuously improving our standards and we keep pushing ourselves to do better year after year. We are honored to be among the top 1% globally and proud to support our customers in building more sustainable supply chains.”
EcoVadis assesses more than 100,000 companies globally based on criteria including environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Achieving Platinum status reinforces Cabka’s leadership in closed-loop systems and its ability to integrate ESG principles across its operations and value chain.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement,” added Katrin Poirier, Cabka’s Sustainability Director. “First and foremost, well done to the entire Cabka team. This recognition is well deserved. Our joint dedication to sustainability makes a real difference. Together, we are transforming supply chains and creating meaningful impacts. Excellence in sustainability truly matters.”
Ecovadis Platinum: Cabka specializes in hard-to-recycle plastic waste
Cabka specializes in converting hard-to-recycle post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste into reusable transport packaging, including plastic pallets and foldable large containers, used in logistics loops for food, beverage, retail, and industrial sectors. Its ECO product line is produced exclusively from post-consumer waste and includes construction and road safety items.
The company’s closed-loop business model and in-house recycling and innovation capabilities have helped it maintain a strong ESG profile in other frameworks as well. Earlier this year, Cabka retained a “B” score from CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) for the second consecutive year, indicating proactive climate risk management and emissions transparency.
Why EcoVadis?
Companies pursue sustainability credentials like an EcoVadis medal because they offer independent validation of their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, something increasingly demanded by customers, investors, and regulatory bodies. A high EcoVadis rating enhances a company’s credibility and competitiveness, helping it qualify for preferred supplier status, strengthen stakeholder trust, and demonstrate alignment with global sustainability goals. For firms operating in complex, risk-sensitive supply chains, such recognition also signals transparency, resilience, and proactive risk management, making it easier to win and retain business in sectors where ESG compliance is no longer optional but expected.
