Helsingborg, Sweden – BoxonTech, a global leader in reusable packaging systems for the automotive sector, has announced both a major European expansion and a leadership transition as the company continues its customer-driven growth.

Expansion Strengthens Southern European Reach
BoxonTech has opened a new facility in Vitoria, Spain, near Bilbao, to serve key markets across Spain, Portugal, Northern Africa, and France. The fully operational site integrates production, warehousing, offices, and a local sales organization headed by Henrik Molander, offering customers increased capacity and regional flexibility.
“Our growth is customer-driven, and we follow our clients as they expand globally,” said Anders Yllfors, Managing Director at BoxonTech. “Spain is a natural next step for us, strategically located in one of Europe’s strongest automotive clusters.”
The new Spanish operation reinforces BoxonTech’s sustainable manufacturing network and supports its FrameTray system, a circular packaging model where trays are 100 percent recycled close to customers and reintroduced into production. “With our presence in Spain, we can shorten supply chains, lower emissions, and offer faster, more sustainable solutions, exactly what our customers are asking for,” added Yllfors.
Leadership Transition: Niklas Rönnäng Appointed CEO

As the expansion takes effect, BoxonTech has also announced a leadership change. Niklas Rönnäng will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on November 10, succeeding Anders Yllfors, who will become Chairman of the Board.
“It has been an incredible journey leading BoxonTech through an important phase of integration and expansion,” said Yllfors. “I’m very pleased to welcome Niklas as our new CEO. His strong leadership and deep industry knowledge will take BoxonTech into the next exciting chapter.”
Rönnäng brings extensive experience in packaging, manufacturing, and e-mobility, most recently serving as CEO and Business Area Director at GARO E-Mobility. He also held senior leadership roles within NIBE Group and earlier at SCA/DS Smith, where he led Sales and Business Development initiatives.
“I am truly excited to join BoxonTech and continue building on the company’s strong foundation,” said Rönnäng. “With its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and customer value, BoxonTech is perfectly positioned for future growth.”
