CHEP Australia has brought home the Australian Packaging Covenant’s High Performers Award in the Small to Medium Packaging Manufacturer category, in recognition of its commitment to environmental sustainability.

CHEP also picked up the ‘Top Collector’ for collecting the most mobile phones and accessories through the MobileMuster program.

The Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) Awards recognise the accomplishments of companies in packaging product stewardship through their commitment and involvement in the APC.

“The APC is proud to acknowledge the work of our high performing signatories,” comments APC CEO, Stan Moore. “The APC high performers are leading the way in packaging sustainability and innovation; they are a testament to the growing realisation that innovation and sustainability make good business sense, create opportunities for better employee and supply chain engagement, and can provide a competitive advantage”.

“As an equipment pooling company, sustainability is at the heart of what we do at CHEP and we are committed reducing single use packaging from the supply chain,” adds CHEP’s Manager, Sustainability Programs Nicole Boyd.

“We are working towards improving the impacts that we can make on our environment through our own operational efficiencies, and also developing supply chain solutions aimed at reducing single use packaging.

“CHEP is a voluntary member of the APC and as a result, we have been able to work with like-minded organisations to improve supply chain sustainability together.”

CHEP Australia received the award at the APC Awards Night held in Sydney on 23 July 2014.
