Reusable cup and slip lid range from Amcor are designed for recyclability and repeated use. It has been tapped as a winner for the RECOUP Award for Best Plastic Product – Development for Recyclability and Re-Use.

Zurich, October 3, 2025 – Amcor has been recognized with the RECOUP Award for Best Plastic Product – Development for Recyclability and Re-Use, honoring its innovative line of reusable cups and sip lids. The award was presented in September ahead of the annual RECOUP Conference, a leading platform for plastics recycling and resource efficiency in the UK.
Amcor’s reusable packaging solution is aimed at reducing reliance on single-use systems, particularly in the foodservice and events sectors. Available in multiple sizes for hot drinks, soups, and cold beverages, the polypropylene-based cups are stackable, dishwasher-safe, and designed for repeated use. Heat-insulating ribs provide comfort for both hot and cold liquids, while customizable in-mold labeling allows businesses to enhance branding and product differentiation.
Uwe Zinnert, sales director for reusables at Amcor, welcomed the recognition: “In the foodservice industry, particularly the events and takeaway sectors, there has been increasing demand for alternative solutions to single-use packaging. We’re delighted that our range has been recognized by RECOUP, an organization that understands the nuances of reusable packaging. Their recognition is a powerful statement about the benefits of our solution.”
When their useful life ends, the cups remain a valuable resource. As mono-material polypropylene products, they can be recycled in dedicated streams where infrastructure exists, closing the loop and reducing environmental impact.
Reusable Cups Can be Equipped with Embedded RFID Chips or QR Codes
To further strengthen reuse systems, the cups can be equipped with embedded RFID chips or QR codes. These digital features support streamlined deposit return schemes, refill operations, and wash-cycle tracking, while enabling operators to manage inventory and optimize logistics. The range is also complemented by a versatile sip lid, designed for use with or without a straw.
Amcor emphasized that the award reflects the company’s broader strategy of combining sustainability and product performance. By delivering durable, reusable, and recyclable packaging, the company is helping customers transition from linear packaging models toward circular systems that cut waste and emissions.
Amcor operates globally with more than 400 locations in over 40 countries, employing 75,000 people and generating $23 billion in annualized sales. The company’s reusable packaging portfolio adds to its extensive offering of flexible and rigid packaging, closures, and cartons designed to meet sustainability goals across food, beverage, healthcare, and consumer products sectors.
