Milestone for Svenska Retursystem – the new competence center in Västerås has now taken over responsibility for logistics management.
Despite challenges with the pandemic, Svenska Retursystem has established a competence center at the facility in Västerås. 20 new employees are now responsible for daily planning, customer service, balance control and accounts receivable in an employee-managed organization.
“A milestone. For the first time in our history, we have full personal responsibility for the logistics flow and the teams work based on the principles of self-leadership “, says Fredrik Thapper, Supply Chain manager at Svenska Retursystem.
Last year, about 20 employees were recruited, who in January took over the entire responsibility. During the autumn, the employees were trained by the external company that previously handled the assignment.
“It has been and will continue to be a really cool journey! The autumn has been very intense and challenging, but at the same time very fun, says Pernilla Lindström “ , Customer Service and Planning Manager, Swedish Return System
Working with self-leadership and employee management has been part of the Swedish Return System’s cultural journey for several years. The basis is that each employee together with their colleagues is given the responsibility to shape how the assignment is to be solved and how the group together achieves their results and goals.
” Now the teams are really in full swing to run and take responsibility for the business themselves while they build their teams themselves and further develop their working methods and methods ,” continues Pernilla Lindström.
Building your own competence center is a strategic step to build long-term and broad logistics competence within Svenska Retursystem’s completely circular flow.
