  • Packaging Basics

    Date: May 11, 2015
    Location: The School of Packaging Ternes Outreach Center

    This hands-on workshop is designed for all levels of industry professionals that have a role in managing packaging and related operations within their organizations seeking a formal background in packaging concepts. The workshop will offer full insight in all aspects of packaging including function, materials, systems and processes, distribution and more!

  • Virtual Package Design and Prototyping – start date of April 1 end date of May 21, 2015

    Date: April 1, 2015 – May 21, 2015
    Location: MSU School of Packaging Ternes Outreach Center

    The online version of the Virtual Package Design and Prototyping Course for Industry members begins April 1, 2015. Participants may start the course as late as April 29 and still finish by May 21. In addition, an optional on campus session will be held on May 19-21, 2015 in the Ternes Outreach Center.

  • Packaging: the User Experience

    Date: April 27, 2015 – April 30, 2015
    Location: Ternes Outreach Center, Packaging Building room 120

    Empowered Packaging: Techniques that transform your Package Design

    This interactive, hands on three and a half-day workshop trains you to implement a proven and unique system of tools that harness consumers thinking into your current packaging engineer training to bring the POW! effect.  The  techniques and overall system changes taught in this course will lead to more effective packaging practices.  These advanced skills of listening, hearing and transforming the consumer experience with packaging will provide you with thinking and actions that can span all phases of entire packaging development.  Developed in partnership with one of the most experienced educators in packaging, Bruce Harte, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus, School of Packaging, The Understanding & Insight Group, innovators in ground breaking consumer research and practicing packaging engineers at Amway R&D. This workshop was created specifically for packaging professionals who want to increase the value of packaging by improving the user experience.

  • Health Care Packaging Immersion Experience

    Date: October 20, 2015 – October 21, 2015
    Location: The James B. Henry Center for Executive Development

    Time: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    Dinner on Oct. 20 runs from 5 – 8:45 p.m.

    Study the performance of medical device packaging in the operating room and emergency department environments, interact and exchange ideas with experienced patient care teams currently working in the industry, and address current trends, needs, problems and solutions in medical device packaging.

  • Food Packaging Basics

    Date: November 10, 2015 – November 12, 2015
    Location: MSU School of Packaging’s Ternes Outreach Center

    This hands-on workshop is designed for those who have a role in managing packaging for food and related operations within their organizations.  The workshop will offer full insight in all aspects of food packaging including function, materials, systems and processes, shelf life estimation, active packaging, modified atmosphere packaging, distribution, food security and more!
